Saudi Arabia
is located in the Middle East. I have been there twice and I was shocked
because the alcohol was prevented for religious reasons. In fact, if someone is
arrested in Saudi Arabia for drinking alcohol they will get around 80 whips.
The reason that KSA government prevent drinking is because they believe that
drinking is the reason for most other sins. According to Islam, the brain is a gift that God gave to you. If you destroy this gift by drinking then there will be no different between you and the animals.
There were
many social results that occurred in Saudi Arabia because of preventing
alcohol. Saudi Arabia has less crime than any other developing country. As an
example, in Saudi Arabia, 100-150 people in each 100,000 are victims of crimes.
On the other hand, over 700 people die in the US out of 100,000 because of
crimes. Add to that, over 75 000 people die in the US yearly because of alcohol. People who die yearly because of alcohol in
Saudi Arabia 30 people a month only. Finally, I just want to say that from an experience
that I had by myself, family relationships in Saudi Arabia are much stronger
than the one here in America. Nobody left their kids alone when they turn into
18. Children’s take care of their parents when they get older. I never saw
something like that in America.
Overall, I
think that if alcohol was prevented in the US many huge changed will happen.
Crime and death will decrease, and relationships will get stronger. I suggest
more researches in English about this topic, because what I found was mostly
Arabic sources.
